MINI
All dancer with an average age of 7 or under are automatically entered in our minis category and elligable for winning the MINI DIAMOND DANCER(S) Title either as a soloist or as a group.
RECREATIONAL
Dancers who dance recreationally
with either a minimum number of
years danced or few hours per week
training. This category is strictly to
the teachers or studio’s discretion
but recreational competitors are not
eligible to win cash prizes and have
a limited number of overall wins
available. See awards section.
*NEW PRE-COMPETITIVE
Dancers who are looking for something slightly more competitive than recreational but are not quite ready for the competitive level. The pre-competitive level is a perfect fit for dancers who have about 3 years or less experience OR practice fewer
hours per week. This category is not eligible to win cash prizes and has a limited number of overall wins available. See awards section.
COMPETITIVE
Dancers who have more years of
dance training or dancers looking
for a more competitive level in a
competition. Competitive dancers
qualify for ALL prizes and overalls
with trophies for each of the top 3 dances in each of the categories. We also give individual trophies to each member of a duet or trio who places in the top 3. This division also provides
Scholarships for all groups who place 1st in the overalls & gives CASH PRIZES for Top Score Jazz/Modern, Tap, Acro
Hip Hop & Lyrical/Contemporary!

PROFESSIONAL
This 18+ category is for anyone who
is looking for the most competitive category. They may work as a professional dancer, teacher or student teacher. When there are 8 or more dancers in the category there will be one Ultimate title awarded with a $100.00 CASH reward paid
to the dancer!
.ADULT/PARENT
This plus 30 category is for dancers who dance recreationally only and will not be eligible to place in the overalls. A dancer under 30 may fall into this category if they are strictly a non-professional dancer dancing with other recreational adults. One overall high score trophy will be awarded as well as one adjudicators choice for most entertaining.
* Categories are to the teachers and/or studio’s discretion. Many dancer(s) and/or groups capability vary regardless of their experience. A recommended guide line is provided above. If the judging panel feels any persons or groups were strongly misrepresented Star Talent has the right to move the entry to a more suitable category.
